Mandi, Teacher and the rest of Class 2B find their Place2Be, this Children’s Mental Health Week

Marking three years of creative, chortle-fuelled collaboration, BEANO and Place2Be have teamed up again this Children’s Mental Health Week to help children – and the adults around them - build better mental health.

This much-loved partnership brings together Beano’s 85+ years of expertise entertaining children with Place2Be’s 30 years of experience delivering mental health support in schools across the UK.

There is much synergy between the two, with BEANO being the only comic where kids are in charge and childhood is celebrated in all its mischievous, screen-free glory - and Place2Be’s work firmly rooted in using art and creative play to help children communicate their thoughts and feelings and build their sense of self.

In this week’s special edition of BEANO The Bash Street Kids mark Children’s Mental Health Week by helping Mandi feel like she fits in to Class 2B. When children belong, they feel happy, safe, and ready to learn and play. That sense of belonging helps children make friends, do well in school, and feel good about themselves.

Based on the Children’s Mental Health Week theme ‘This is My Place’ BEANO and Place2Be have also collaborated on a page of Tips and Advice to help children unpick ‘belonging’. These pointers encourage children to consider ‘What is Belonging?’ and ‘Where do I belong?’ as well as offering ideas on things that can help us feel we belong.

As well as featuring inside this week’s BEANO, these tips are part of the free resources available on the official Children’s Mental Health Week website.
