Exchanging Postcards - activity for 11-14 year olds

Developed by Place2Be‘s Art Room team for 11-14 year olds, this activity encourages young people to explore what connection means to them, and how it empowers them.

There are so many ways to connect with others, and the world around us. While connection means something unique and different to each of us, let's celebrate that even with our differences, we are all connected.

In this activity, children are encouraged to make postcards to help them feel connected to the people and things they care about.

What you'll need

  • Plain paper, roughly the size of a postcard
  • Something to draw with - pens, pencils, crayons or paint
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Scrap paper for collaging (optional)
