Children’s Mental Health Week 2023 raises over £82,000 for Place2Be

It's been two months since Children's Mental Health Week 2023, and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in the week and helped raise over £82,000 for Place2Be.

From 6-12 February 2023, hundreds of schools, organisations and individuals got involved in Children’s Mental Health Week – organising Dress to Express Days, sponsored swims, bake sales and so much more.

You’ve raised over £82,000 for Place2Be and these vital funds will enable us to support more children, schools and families across the UK.

We’ve loved hearing about how you celebrated Children’s Mental Health Week, here are some of our favourite activities:

  • 7-year-old Jasmine made a splash during Children’s Mental Health Week by swimming over 5 miles and raising an incredible £292.50.
  • Together with two classmates and a teacher, 10-year-old Hayden put a skip in his step and raised £230. Everyday, Hayden spent his break and lunchtimes with a skipping rope – managing a fabulous 11,000 skips throughout the week.
  • Thousands of children came together at the Young Voices concerts in Sheffield and London, performing uplifting pop medleys, street dance and beatbox. The shows during Children’s Mental Health Week raised an incredible £5,479.
  • University student Tahmina held a bake sale for students and staff members and raised £280. Tahmina said “It went so well - a few students from LSE actually recognised the charity and they remember it from their school days - it’s made my year and it’s only February.”
  • Rebecca runs a small charity with her son – Awesome Archie – who support children with neurological differences in mainstream education. Rebecca raised £62.50 by taking part in Dress To Express – wearing fabulous outfits from the likes of Minecraft, Among Us, and Super Mario.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, we’re so grateful for your support and can’t wait to share our plans for Children’s Mental Health Week 2024 with you.
