Place2Be launches free, interactive resources ahead of Children’s Mental Health Week 2026
Place2Be's Children's Mental Health Week is just over 2 months away, and we've been busy getting lots of fun and interactive resources ready to help you take part in the week and embrace our theme This is My Place.
This year’s theme, This is My Place, focuses on the vital role of belonging. Our sense of fundamental belonging as individuals, and in our friendships, school and communities, is a vital component to our mental health and wellbeing.
Our aim is to support the groups and systems surrounding our children and young people. We'll encourage peers, families, schools and communities to create inclusive and nurturing environments, where children and young people feel they belong and can say “This is My Place”.
Read about the resources
Place2Be is the organisation behind Children’s Mental Health Week, and the leading provider of school-based mental health. The free resources were developed in collaboration with children and young people, alongside Place2Be’s clinical experts, to ensure they are practical, engaging, and evidence based. They are designed to help schools, families, community groups and workplaces create inclusive environments where every child and young person feels they belong.
The packs include creative activities, fundraising ideas, and practical tips to spark conversations about mental health and encourage participation. From assemblies and classroom projects to family activities and workplace challenges, these resources make it easy for everyone to get involved.
Why take part?
Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week is an opportunity for communities across the UK to come together and show children and young people that they matter. Whether you host an event, take part in an activity, or fundraise, your involvement helps Place2Be provide vital mental health support in schools nationwide.
Last year, more than 800 schools and 40,000 adults took part, reaching over 285,000 children and young people across the UK. This year, we want to make an even bigger impact, but we need your support to do it.
- 1 in 5 children currently has a probable mental health disorder.
- Around 50% of mental health conditions are established before age 14.
Childhood is our chance to act.
Every pound makes a difference:
- £54 could fund a one-to-one counselling session for a child struggling with trauma.
- £500 could allow over 31 children to speak to a counsellor about their worries in a lunchtime session.
We need to raise funds to deliver our vital work to tens of thousands of children every year. Children’s Mental Health Week is a great opportunity to get your school, workplace or community group fundraising for a great cause! We currently reach over 340,000 children in over 660 schools around the country. With your help, we can do even more.
Together, we can create a future where no child faces mental health problems alone.
