Children’s Mental Health Week raises over £63,000 for Place2Be

This week marks one month since Children’s Mental Health Week 2021, and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in the week and helped raise over £63,000 for Place2Be.

From 1-7 February 2021, hundreds of schools, organisations and individuals got involved in Children’s Mental Health Week - organising Dress to Express Days, virtual sing-alongs, quizzes and more.

So far, you’ve raised over £63,000 for Place2Be – with donations still coming in! These vital funds will enable us to support more children, schools and families across the UK.

We’ve loved hearing about how you celebrated Children’s Mental Health Week, here are some of our favourite activities:

We celebrated Children's Mental Health Week by dressing up in bright clothes and spending time in our online lessons discussing things that we are grateful for and happy about! We used the bunting resources in your fundraising pack to make "happy flags" where I wrote in all the things that students told me they were happy about and we made a whole string of Happy Flags!

"Jasmine (pictured above) walked 15 miles throughout Children Mental Health Week highlighting the important effects of exercise on our mental health. That’s more than 2 miles a day (come rain or snow) - no mean feat for little 5 year old legs!"

“My twins, Hayden and Paige (age 8) have been getting dressed each day to express how they're feeling. We've had Monday blues, confused and lazy, and today my daughter dressed proudly as captain sir Tom Moore in memory of him and his heroics.”

“Last Thursday we held a virtual family fun evening where children and adults alike joined us for games, challenges and some healthy ‘inter-family’ competition.”

"We had an awesome time celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week… Live Express Yourself sessions were streamed into their Google Classrooms on Friday, we all dressed up, danced, played games, stretched our bodies, drew pictures and focussed on the many ways there are to express ourselves.”

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, we’re so grateful for your support, and can’t wait to share our plans for Children’s Mental Health Week 2022 with you. Sign up for email alerts to be the first to hear about next year’s plans.

Beyond Children’s Mental Health Week

Each year during Children’s Mental Health Week we shine a spotlight on the importance of children’s mental health, but our work doesn’t end here. Place2Be’s vision is for all young people to have the support they need to build lifelong coping skills and thrive.
