Children's Mental Health Week 2024: resources available now

With just over three months to go until Children’s Mental Health Week 2024, we're excited to release our free resources to help everyone take part in the week.

Two primary age children wearing school uniform, sat in a classroom with their hands raised. Both are wearing stickers with the Children's Mental Health Week logo on.

This year's theme is My Voice Matters. Place2Be is encouraging children and young people to use their voices, share what matters to them and encourage those around them to listen.

This year’s resources were developed in consultation with children and young people, who shared their thoughts on the theme and what they want from the week.

Free resources for schools and colleges

Our free resources for schools and colleges are now available to help schools and youth groups explore the theme of My Voice Matters. The resources include materials such as:

  • assembly guides
  • slides
  • group activities
  • fundraising ideas.

All of the resources are also available in Welsh and our videos with British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation.

You can request a physical copy of our primary and secondary/high school packs. These come with extra goodies to help you organise your Express Yourself day or fundraising day.

Free resources for families

Parents and carers play an important role in their child’s mental health. We've designed some top tips, and activity ideas, to help you and your family take part in the week.

With the support of children and young people, we’ve also created two new resources for Children’s Mental Health Week 2024; top tips for children, and top tips for young people. These tips have been written and shared by young people and are available to download as part of our resources for schools and families.

Express Yourself

Following the success of Children’s Mental Health Week 2023, we have also launched our Express Yourself fundraising campaign for schools, organisations, and individuals. Last year, with public support, Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week raised over £140,000.

The idea is simple - celebrate what makes you unique by holding an Express Yourself fundraiser during Children’s Mental Health Week, and raise money for Place2Be. You can find a step-by-step guide to organising your Express Yourself day in our resource packs.

Spread the word

We'd also love your support to help us spread the word and raise awareness of the importance of children's mental health. Download our free social media guidewith template posts, downloadable images and more ideas to inspire you. If you are tweeting and posting about the week, be sure to tag Place2Be in your posts and use #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek.
