How we connect: friendships

Place2Be Ambassador, podcaster and journalist, Josh Smith, visited two secondary schools to ask students about the different ways they connect, and how connections can impact their mental health and wellbeing.

In this video, young people talk to Josh about friendships, and how they cope with disconnection from friends.

After watching this video, you may want to have a discussion as a class about friendships. Here are a few suggested discussion points and questions:

  • Does an argument or disagreement have to mean the end of a friendship?
  • Can you have a different point of view from your friend and still be friends?
  • Can you be friends with someone even if they are really different from you?
